Concert band

THE CONCERT BANDS ARE open to students with previous instrumental training.  CONCERT BAND IN THE FIRST SEMESTER BEGINS AT OR NEAR THE END OF MARCHING SEASON AND FOCUSES PRIMARILY ON PREPARING MUSIC FOR THE CHRISTMAS CONCERT, AND LAYING THE FOUNDATION FOR ENSEMBLE DEVELOPMENT.  THE Second semester focuses on concerts, contests, festivals, and individual achievements such as solo and ensemble contests and region, area, and state band tryouts

​Membership in the concert bands is by audition only.
auditions take place in december for spring band placement and again in may for fall band placement.

HONOR BAND
Honor Band is considered the first performing ensemble in the band program and is open to all students in all four grades. In order to be a member of this group, a student must demonstrate the highest level of musical maturity, technical proficiency, and commitment to rehearsal and practice time. A student must seriously pursue individual goals on their instrument as well as working diligently toward ensemble goals. The Honor Band performs at the Christmas and Spring concerts and at the UIL Concert & Sight-reading contest in April.

SYMPHONIC 1 BAND
Symphonic 1 is considered the second performing ensemble and is also comprised of students in all four grades. To be a member of this group, a student must demonstrate a high level of musical maturity, technical proficiency, and commitment to rehearsal and practice time. The Symphonic Band performs at the Christmas and Spring concerts and at the UIL Concert & Sight-reading contest in April.

SYMPHONIC 2 BAND
Symphonic 2 is considered the third performing ensemble and is also comprised of students in all four grades. To be a member of this group, a student must demonstrate a developing level of musical maturity, technical proficiency, and commitment to rehearsal and practice time. The Symphonic Band 2 performs at the Christmas and Spring concerts and at the UIL Concert & Sight-reading contest in April.
