To participate in UIL activities each student must be considered full-time. UIL defines “full-time” as a student receiving academic instruction for at least 4 hours or 240 minutes a day. Under a 7-period day, a student must take 5 academic classes. An academic class is one in which a student receives a grade and a state or local credit. (Study Hall and Office Aid do not qualify as academic classes.)
